The Center for Peace Mediation was founded in 2007 at the European University Viadrina, institutionally integrated in the Institute for Conflict Management. Since May 2008, it is also cooperating with the Project Humboldt-Viadrina School of Governance in Berlin.
The European University Viadrina has a remarkable reputation for its international learning environment and academic excellence in Social and Cultural Sciences, Law and Economics. The Institute for Conflict Management is one focal point for all activities on alternative dispute resolution at Viadrina.
The Project Humboldt-Viadrina School of Governance, founded as a joint project of the European University Viadrina and Humboldt University Berlin, is becoming one of the leading institutions for Public Policy studies.
This consortium structure of the Center for Peace Mediation – which will be expanded in the future – enables the Center to bring together scholars and practitioners from different fields of expertise, covering all key areas of peace mediation.
