Prof. Dr. Ulla Glaesser is academic director of the postgraduate, interdisciplinary Master’s Program in Mediation at the European University Viadrina and Humboldt University Berlin. She is also academic director of the Institute for Conflict Management at the European University and partner of the Berlin-based mediation firm Kanzlei für Mediation Glaesser Kirchhoff and TGKS Berlin.

Biography:

Prof. Dr. Glaesser holds law degrees from the University of Bonn and from Boalt Hall School of Law, UC Berkeley.

In addition to her practical work as a mediator and facilitator, Ms. Glaesser is teaching mediation and ADR skills at various universities, the German Academy of Judges, and the United Nations Office at Geneva (UNOG). Her work has taken her to Austria, Australia, Belgium, Canada, Norway, Switzerland and the United States.

She has published broadly on mediation methodology and the application of mediation as well as ADR procedures in various realms of society. Her upcoming publication will be on the role of gender in international peace mediation processes.

Areas of Expertise:

Theory of conflict analysis and conflict resolution, mediation and negotiation methodology, process design, mediation and the justice system, gender questions in mediation.
