The Center for Peace Mediation, in partnership with swisspeace and mediatEUr, delivered a 3-day “Intensive Training Program on Peace Mediation in the Context of the EU” to the European External Action Service (EEAS) officials and EU Member States representatives.
The pilot course was organised by the EEAS in collaboration with the European Institute of Public Administration (EIPA).
In addition, the CPM contributed to a pilot Coaching Program on peace mediation delivered by swisspeace and mediatEUr focusing on the role of mediation and communication skills in EU missions.
Both training and coaching were tailored to the specific needs and requirements of the participants who will work in or on conflicts as process supporters, advisors or mediators. Thus, the curriculum allowed the participants to improve their knowledge and skills in communication, conflict analysis and mediation as well as to develop responses to the specific methodical and structural challenges of mediation offered and supported by the EU.
