Training & Teaching > Master’s Program in Human Rights & Humanitarian Law

The Master’s Program in Human Rights & Humanitarian Law is a three-semester program at the European University Viadrina providing in-depth studying of human rights protection in times of peace and war.

The special character of this postgraduate program lies in its integration of general human rights protection with rights protection in diverse situations of armed conflict. In this regard, the program aims not only to provide a solid theoretical understanding of the issues, principles, structures, substantive law and institutions relevant to this topic but also to aid students in acquiring reliable practical skills in the application of their theoretical knowledge.

As a part of the program, students can specialize in international conflict prevention and management. In this regard, the Center for Peace Mediation offers a course on basic principles and methods of interest representation in the international human rights field with a special focus on armed conflicts.
