Imke Kerber, Research Associate
From 2014 to 2016, Imke Kerber worked as research associate and coordinator of the 3-year B/Orders in Motion research project “Managing Boundaries in Triadic Negotiation Processes” at the Center for Peace Mediation.
Imke Kerber holds an M.A. in Peace and Conflict Studies from the Otto-von-Guericke-University, Magdeburg. She gathered broad knowledge and practical experience in international peacebuilding approaches and conflict sensitive cooperation strategies through engagements at inter alia the United Nations Peacebuilding Fund (New York, USA), UNESCO – Post Conflict/Post Disaster Desk (Paris, France) and NGOs (e.g. in Antigua, Guatemala).
In her PhD project, Imke Kerber conducted a qualitative study on the long-term (negative) effects of mediation in post-conflict settings (working title: “When mediation harms. Analyzing the impact of peace agreements on conflict situations”). Her academic teaching included a course on peace mediation for the Master’s Program in Mediation (Viadrina) and lectures at different Universities, e.g. Otto-von-Guericke University Magdeburg. Moreover, she is active as a moderator for meetings and workshops.
