Julia von Dobeneck, Affiliated Researcher
Julia von Dobeneck, peace mediator, trainer and experienced political advisor, was Senior Project Manager and Researcher at the Center for Peace Mediation from 09/2015 to 04/2021.
Besides teaching and continuously refining the peace mediation methodology, Julia conducted research on dialogue in Ukraine, represented the CPM at IMSD and MSN and headed the policy section of the Research and Transfer Project Peace Mediation (“Mediation Hub”) as scholar-practitioner at Directorate-General S at the German Federal Foreign Office (FFO) from 2018-2021. Besides the continuous day to day exchange between CPM researchers and the Federal Foreign Office, the Hub provides, amongst others, methodological and conceptual process support as well as in-house training for diplomatic staff.
Julia is now heading the project “Strengthening of Mediation Capacities” which the Center for International Peace Operations (ZIF) is running in cooperation with the German Federal Foreign Office. As Affiliated Researcher at the CPM, amongst others, she continues lecturing for some of the Center programs, e.g. in the Master’s Program on Mediation and Conflict Management.
