The project “The Common House: Supporting and Broadening Dialogue Processes in Odessa” (2015) was jointly developed and conducted by CSSP, inmedio and the Center for Peace Mediation and financed by the German Federal Foreign Office.
The process support project built on lessons learned from assessment and a pilot workshop in 2014 in Odessa, Ukraine. In the course of a workshops series and other activities in 2014 and 2015, a core group of local actors engaged in facilitating, organizing, supporting and/or promoting dialogue in Odessa, has been established. In 2015, the project focused at: 1.) Outreaching to new agents of dialogue in Odessa; 2.) Strengthening synergies among local agents and platforms of dialogue; 3.) Strengthening practical capacities of agents of dialogue.
In December 2015, the involved actors founded the plaform for Civil Initiative Space for Dialogue in Odessa.
The Center for Peace Mediation`s contributions to the project included the facilitation of a workshop, 10 days of field research with expert interviews, individual and group supervision and coaching sessions as well as research support for Ukrainian scholars and dialogue facilitators in Odessa.
An analysis of the results of the experts interviews can be found in the study "Dialogue in Odessa, Ukraine. Findings and suggestions based on a series of interviews with local dialogue actors, carried out in Odessa in 2015". The findings are also available in Ukrainian.
